Bonney Lake Police Blotter, week of Sept. 28, 2011

ARSON: Police on Aug. 29 were dispatched to the 8000 block of 182nd Avenue Eats for a report of malicious mischief. The caller reported a real estate sign on fire. The value of the sign is estimated at $20. Police are investigating.

HIT AND RUN: Late on the evening of Sept. 10 police were dispatched to the 10300 block of 185th Avenue East for a report of a car driving into a garage door and into two vehicles parked int he garage. Police also located a damaged bush where the suspect drove away, leaving the scene. The residents were inside their house and heard a loud crashing sound from the garage and ran out to find the garage door fallen to the ground and the suspect vehicle pulling out of the driveway and down Angeline Road. Neighbors repeated the same story. One of the witnesses provided information on a suspect vehicle, though the driver denied involvement in the accident. Police locates the vehicle, which matched the description of that involved in the accident, had front end damage and the hood was still warm. The driver of the vehicle appeared nervous when asked about the accident and then admitted to being involved. The driver said he pulled into the driveway and accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake. He then fled the scene because he was scared. He did not appear to be under the influence or impaired. He was arrested without incident and cited or inattentive driving.

DISORDERLY: Police on Sept. 11 were dispatched to the Walmart for a report of a verbal dispute between an adult male and a juvenile female. Police contacted the male outside who said the juvenile female, his neice, was still in the store. The male said the female was “brake checking” him with her vehicle and then she and a friend were making obscene gestures at the man and his wife while they were in the store and that when he approached the two got into a heated verbal dispute. Police then contacted the girl inside the store. The girl said the male was behind them in the car and was following too close so she tapped her brakes a couple of times, causing the male to go around and cut her off. The girl saw the man again inside the store and the male approached and began yelling at her. The girl’s friend said she flipped him off because she was upset about what happened in the parking lot. Security reported they did not know what caused the dispute but both were yelling and using foul language. The man’s wife confirmed his story and said the girl started the argument in the store. Witnesses said the dispute was very heated and the man appeared very heated, but nothing physical occurred. The girls’ father then arrived and began causing problems by yelling at the male and seemingly trying to pick a fight. The father was placed in handcuffs and he continued to fight and swear while he was being arrested. The man also smelled of intoxicants. The father was arrested and transported to Buckley Jail to be booked on charges of disorderly conduct.

SYPHONING: Police on Sept. 12 were dispatched to the 9000 bock of Main Street for a report of damage to their two transport vans and a theft of gas from the vehicle. The Reporting party said sometime over the previous weekend an unknown suspect drilled a hole in the gas tank of the vehicle and syphoned approximately five gallons of gasoline out of the vehicle. The owners reported a similar complaint in August, costing approximately $1,000. Police are investigating.

THEFT OF PURSE: Police on Sept. 12 took a report from a woman regarding her purse stolen while she was at Walmart. The woman had her purse in her shopping cart as she was loading bags into her car and then drove home, apparently leaving her purse in the cart. She returned to the store, but was unable to locate her purse. The woman lost two credit cards, which have been canceled, and approximately $140 in cash. Police are investigating.

PROWL: Police on Sept. 12 were dispatched to the 18400 block of 104th Street Court East for a report of a vehicle prowl. The reporting party’s boat was parked on the shoulder of the road as he was taking it to storage and an unknown suspect entered the boat and stole stereo equipment. Police are investigating.

FALSE INFO: Police on Sept. 12 were dispatched to a verbal dispute at the 76 Station on Sumner-Buckley Highway. Police recognized the woman involved, but could not come up with a name. When police asked about the incident, she provided them with a false name. Police heard the man involved say her real name and immediately recognized her from previous incidents. A check of the second name revealed several misdemeanor warrants. Dhe was arrested and transported to Buckley Jail and booked for providing false and misleading statements.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Police on Sept. 13 were dispatched to the 7200 block of 188th Avenue East for a report of a burglary. The reporting party has been watching over his father’s house while he was away and noticed when he collected the mail that a flatscreen television was missing. A sliding glass door that was locked was also found unsecure and it appears the suspect entered through a window at the rear of the residence where screens were removed from the windows. The television is valued at more than $400. Police are investigating.

SOMEONE INVESTIGATE GALLAGHER: Police on Sept. 14 were called to the 9800 block of 198th Avenue Court East for a report that an unknown suspect threw watermelons at her vehicle. The vehicle’s windshield was also smashed. The victim provided suspect information. Police are investigating.

COUNTERFEIT: Police on Sept. 14 were called to Walmart for a report of a fraud report after a white male and female attempted to pass two counterfeit $100 bills at two different registers. The female paid for an approximately $20 purchase with a fake $100 bill and received the change. The man attempted to do something similar and when employees noticed the fake bill, the man left the store. The pair were seen leaving together. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY: Police on Sept. 15 were called to the scene of a residential burglary in which an unknown suspect attempted to kick in the front door of a home and then kicked in the rear door and took a flatscreen television, a DVD player, a small jewelry box and some coins. Police are investigating.

DISORDERLY: Police on Sept 16 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a disorderly subject throwing items at customers int he parking lot and then leaving. Police located the vehicle and the driver matched the suspect description. Police called for the suspect to stop but he did not until the officer deployed his Taser and ordered the suspect to the ground. he was found to have an outstanding warrant and said the incident at Walmart started after he was shorted $100 while cashing a check. He apologized and Walmart declined to press charges. He was transported to Buckley Jail and booked on his warrant.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Police on Sept. 17 were dispatched to the 11200 block of 174th Avenue East for a report of an incident involving a pellet gun. The reporting party said he was exiting his vehicle when he heard the sound of a pump action gun and felt a small projectile hit him in the arm. he also said projectiles rained down on his vehicle. he then heard the pump action again and more projectiles struck his house. He then heard an unknown suspect running away on the other side of a fence. Police located several small pellets in the driveway and are investigating.
