Daffodil Festival season gets under way with the The Princess Promenade Feb. 4

The Princess Promenade is the official ceremony in which each young woman selected to represent her High School is tapped and proclaimed an official Daffodil Princess; they will each receive their Princess Tiara and a Golden Daffodil.

Despite the snow and ice we’ve recently survived, spring must be right around the corner, as plans for this year’s Daffodil Festival begin to get under way.

The Princess Promenade starts off the season on Feb. 4 in Lakewood.

The Princess Promenade is the official ceremony in which each young woman selected to represent her High School is tapped and proclaimed an official Daffodil Princess; they will each receive their Princess Tiara and a Golden Daffodil.

This is the first time the Royal Court will be presented to the Public.

This year, Bonney Lake High School is represented by Angela Crone. The Sumner High School Princess is Carly Lange. Megan McBarron will represent White River High School.

The Princess Promenade and tapping ceremony will be followed by a dessert social. Reservations are required by Friday and the cost of the Dessert Social is $20.00.

Princess Promenade and Dessert Buffet are being held at the Sharon McGavick Conference Center, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W. in Lakewood.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program starts at 7 with dessert to follow.
