Daffodil Princesses Shelby Parkin from Sumner High and Danika Wilcoxson from Bonney Lake High will participate in the 2009 Daffodil Festival’s Queen’s Coronation ceremonies at 7 p.m. Friday at Puyallup Foursquare Church, 601 9th Avenue.

Parkin and Wilcoxson are part of this year’s court of 23 Daffodil princesses, who represent most high schools throughout Pierce County.

During the scholarship awards, one princess will be selected as this year’s queen based on academic standing, personality, attitude, speaking ability, appearance, sociability, content of their speech, festival awareness and impromptu speaking.

Tickets to the event are $10 for adults and $5 for students or seniors.

The court will participate in several Daffodil Festival activities, including the Junior Parade on March 28, the 75th annual Daffodil Parade on April 4 and the Marine Parade on April 19.
