Department of Fish and Wildlife approves clam dig

The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife announced harvestable numbers of razor clams, which has prompted an open clam season, approved from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2.
Digging will be allowed between 12:01 and 11:59 p.m. daily. Only the razor clam species are included in the season approval.
Locations include Long Beach, which extends from the Columbia River to Leabetter Point; Twin Harbors Beach, which extends from Cape Shoalwater to the south jetty at the mouth of Grays Harbor; Copalis Beach, which extends from the Grays Harbor north jetty to the Copalis River, and includes the Copalis, Ocean Shores, Oyhut, Ocean City and Copalis areas; Mocrocks Beach, which extends from the Copalis River to the southern boundary of the Quinault Reservation near the Moclips River, including Iron Springs, Roosevelt Beach and Moclips.

4:36 p.m., Jan. 28; Twin Harbors
5:25 p.m., Jan. 29; Twin Harbors, Long Beach
6:11 p.m., Jan. 30; Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Mocrocks
6:55 p.m., Jan. 31; Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Mocrocks
7:38 p.m., Feb. 1; Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Mocrocks, Copalis
8:20 p.m., Feb. 2; Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Mocrocks
