Downtown Enumclaw featuring live music the next four Fridays

Classic rock, jazz and blues are on the menu for one more month of live tunes.

Enumclaw’s summertime concert schedule will continue for four more Fridays, offering the type of free outdoor entertainment that debuted in 2019 but was bypassed for health reasons a year ago.

This season’s concert calendar was a rather fluid affair according to Alina Hibbs, the city’s cultural events manager and, as such, the one responsible for putting the concert series together. A pair of special events in town – one last week and the second this week – altered plans.

Friday of last week brought the Fabulous Murphtones to downtown for an all-ages street dance offered in conjunction with the Enumclaw appearance of The Moving Wall. The city took a break last week, as the concert was a product of the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce.

This week’s Friday night show also has been moved downtown (to the corner of Cole Street and Myrtle Avenue) to connect with a car cruise through town. Set to play is SixGun, beginning at 6 p.m.

The rest of the “Evenings on Railroad” schedule, all planned for Friday evenings at Rotary Centennial Park, looks like this. The music begins at 6:30 p.m. on the grassy lawn at the corner of Griffin Avenue and Railroad Street.

• Aug. 20: Raucous will play the park, offering a night of classic rock. The group appears throughout the Northwest, popular at fairs, festivals, clubs and casinos.

• Aug. 27: The High Note Group will entertain in the park. The four-person band performs original music blended with blues, jazz, soul and funk favorites.

• Sept. 3: The Evenings on Railroad series concludes with a performance by T-Town Aces, a favorite on the Northwest blues scene.
