Today’s New Information:

 

The District Art Show will begin on Thursday, May 16th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the EHS Commons and 1000 Building.  There will be student demonstrations in glassblowing, painting, and drawing.  An awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm.  If you cannot make it on this date then come to the school during business hours.  Artwork will be on display until Thursday, May 30th.

Let’s celebrate the arts!

 

The 8th Annual CABARET: A night of Music Theater.  The event is May 21st in the EHS commons and dinner begins at 6pm.  The show begins at 6:15and the cost is $16.00 per person, $60 for a family of 4 with each additional person only $5.00.  There is also a huge silent auction with amazing items that will enhance summer fun for so many.  There are 24 vocalists from freshman to seniors and YES our VERY OWN MR. Darrell Miller will be performing.

 

Open Gym Basketball – all students are welcome TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 21, Thursday, May 23 from 6:00-8:00PM in our large gym.

 

Four Enumclaw water polo players were named to All-League teams this season – junior Megan Lesmeister and sophomore Bailey Sexton were named to First Team All-League, senior Bella Davenport and sophomore

Hayley Sonneson were named to Second Team All-League.

8th Grade Football EMS vs TMMS May 21st (Next Tuesday) under the lights at Pete’s Pool!!  Come support your old school and the future Hornets!!

 

The car show and car bash is tomorrow. Judging will be done by students voting. The show runs from 8 am to 1 pm. UTI will be here selling hot dogs and brats. Bring your cash for dogs and the car bash. The US Army will have one of their Hummers on display. It’s going to be a fun day. See you in the auto shop.

Prom tickets will be sold next Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23rd.  These are the ONLY days to buy tickets and sign-up for photo times.  Don’t miss out!

 

 

 

Prom season is just around the corner! Have you ordered your corsage or boutonnière yet? Come by the EHS Flower Shop in the Agriculture Building to place your order today! We have tons of color options for you! Corsages are $15, boutonnières are $10 and the set is $20. We will help you select everything you need! Please place your order by next Friday! Thanks!

 

Attention all seniors who received an invitation to the Senior Luncheon given by the National Honor Society.  You need to turn in your RSVP to Mrs. Sandfer in room 408 or Mrs. Ross in room 211 by the end of the day on Friday, May 17 if you want to attend the luncheon.

 

TODAY through June 12, Cascadian Yearbooks are on sale again.   Basic book is $58.00.

 

The last play of the year opens this weekend in the Auditorium and it’s a big comedy!  “Fools” by Neil Simon stars seniors Conner Wells, Tanner Willey, Jill Randall, Mollie Parce, Noah Goucher, Nolan Bailey, Bailey Sipila, Lyndee Virgin, Mike Boxx, Juliet Bannerot, Kassie Schmidt, Chilson Schmunk, Zack Mason, and Jake the snake Stevens.  What makes it funny is they all play villagers who have been struck by a curse that makes them lose their brains. (If they had any to begin with!)  The play starts Thursday night and is free with ASB!  See you there!

 

SENIORS:

Seniors – Please let us know of any scholarships you have earned. Go to the Enumclaw High School Homepage and click on the link for Senior Scholarship Form and follow the directions on the form. The deadline to turn in any scholarships is this Friday, May 17th.

 

If you’ve purchased an honor cord for graduation, they are available to pick-up in the Main Office.  If you have not purchased one yet ($7.25), please pay the cashier and bring the receipt with you to pick up.

 

Senior & all other student fines are posted outside the cashier’s window.  Please check it out and pay your fines.

 

EHS Senior Culminating Projects Exhibition Night is Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00 to 8:00PM on campus.

 

Attention all seniors.   If you need to send an 8th semester transcript at the end of the year to a college you have been accepted to, please sign up in the Counseling Office.   These will be mailed out after grades have been finalized.

 

Senior Prom is Saturday, June 1 from 7:00 to 11:30 at Shilshoe Beach Club in Seattle. Price: TBD

 

Senior Awards will be on Tuesday, June 4 from 6:30 to 9:00PM in the auditorium.  Parents are invited.

 

Graduation Tickets will be available & extras on sale beginning June 3 through June 6 during both lunches in the commons on stage and after school in the cashiers office.  Reminder – only the graduating senior may pick the tickets up & purchase them.  10 free tickets & $3.00 for each extra.

At the same time that you pick-up your tickets you will be asked to sign-up with a walking partner for graduation. (Running Start students may pick up their tickets from the cashier.)

 

Senior Check-out Day is Thursday, June 6.

 

Baccalaureate is on Sunday, June 9 at the Sacred Heart Church at 7:00PM.

 

Mandatory Graduation Practice is on Monday, June 10 from 10:00-1:00PM at the White River Amphitheater.

Running Start students please email your counselor if you have a conflict with classes and this schedule.

 

Graduation (by ticket only) is on Monday, June 10 beginning at 7:00PM.  Seniors need to be there by 6:30PM.

Sophomores will be selling Class t-shirts today until Friday, May 24th.  Short sleeves are $15.00 and long sleeves are $20.00.  Get yours at both lunches.

Congratulations to EHS Boys Soccer for a great season.  Their season ended in Kennewick, to Kennewick in a 2-3 loss.

 

Last week they took 11 students over to WSU for State FFA Convention. We competed in Marketing, Ag Issues, Extemporaneous Speaking and First Year Greenhand Contest. The Greenhand Team (Hunter Leudeke, Samantha Bartlett, Maddie Dawn, and Lyna White-Eagle) were the first Enumclaw team to EVER make the final round! Top 16 in the state! Rebecca Blake was awarded the state degree (highest honor in the state) and took 4th place individual in Extemporaneous speaking! Samantha Lanting was awarded a Bronze Proficency Award in dairy production and a $50 bonus! And our chapter won the video contest for the Second year in a row! Enumclaw and White River Judo Team competed last weekend at the State High School Championships. Here are the results of the competition.

ENUMCLAW/ WHITE RIVER HIGH SCHOOL JUDO 4TH AT STATE

The Enumclaw/ White River High School Judo Team competed this last weekend at the High School /Middle School State Championships. The team took 18 players to the tournament. Of that eighteen, fifteen placed in the top four. With 5 State Champions, 5 placing 2nd and 2 placing third, the High School Team placed 4th in the state.

Team Captain, Sean Wei was undefeated during the season and was the State Champion in his division. Other State Champions were Jonathan Alya, Adin Hanrahan, Danielle Cormier and Joseph Fe’a. Addison Garton, Garret Severson,  Jordon Glasco, sisters Stevie Williams, Team Captain and Caitlin Williams placed second.  Gioele Englehart, Joseph Ginez were third place finishers.  Team finished out with Gavin Severson, Tyer Kelly and Luke Williams, placing 4th.

Native American /Alaskan Native Club meets monthly with no fees to participate. The group will learn leadership skills and participate in cultural events. If you have questions please see Cathy in the Counseling Center.

 

Spanish Club is a group that celebrates Hispanic and Latino culture and practices the use of the Spanish language.  The club is organized and ran by student leaders in the University of Washington Spanish class.

COMMUNITY Happenings:

The Enumclaw Clothing Bank:   We are open every Tuesday from 10am-6pm. (closed on school closures and holidays)  We are located at the JJ Smith building on Fell St. in the old library. Sheila Smith 360-829-6605

The Clothing Bank has helped over 700 people so far this school year. The bank will be open through the end of May.  They are currently in need of new socks and underwear as well as any new or used clothing items sizes baby through adult as they restock for “back to school”.

 

YoungLife is on Monday nights at 7:37PM in Senior Locker Bay.  All students are welcome.

at the Black Diamond Museum, 32627 Railroad Avenue, Black Diamond, WA.  Museum opens at 12:00 Noon & the Program begins at 1:00PM (which is a presentation of the history & culture of Wales.
