ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: After police made a traffic stop at 1:23 a.m. May 20 to check on a possible intoxicated driver, the motorist fled on foot. A King County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was called in to track the suspect from the scene of the Roosevelt Avenue stop, but no one was found. The vehicle was impounded.

CONCERNED: A woman reported May 19 her ex-husband could be stalking her, as he had shown up in places she frequents and left her messages with information regarding people she knows. The report was for “information only” at this time.

BAD BEHAVIOR: A Griffin Avenue establishment notified police May 19, concerned about the behavior of a guest and stating he needed to act appropriately or leave. Following police contact, the guest agreed to comply and he was allowed to stay.

ANIMAL ABUSE: An Enumclaw school principal asked for police help the afternoon of May 19 regarding a report of animal cruelty that occurred on school property.

THEFT FROM CAR: A citizen reported May 18 someone had stolen a laptop computer and briefcase from a vehicle while it was parked in a Wells Street lot. A window was damaged in the process.

POOL TROUBLE: Police responded to the Enumclaw Aquatic Center at 7:52 p.m. May 18 after staff discovered several people going through lockers. The suspects departed, but one was identified by name. Police contacted the named suspect and one other; both were ordered not to return to the pool.

MINOR IN POSS-ESSION: Staff at a Jensen Street facility told police May 18 of a female who had arrived seeking help with an alcohol or drug problem. Police arrived and arrested the subject for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

NOT STREET LEGAL: Police received several calls May 16 regarding a drag-race type of vehicle being driven or pulled on Semanski Street; callers complained that it was very loud and backfiring. The vehicle was located at Enumclaw Middle School. Those in possession of the vehicle said they would not be driving it on the street, that it would be put on a trailer and taken home.

THREATS: A citizen arrived at the police station May 16 after receiving a threatening text message from a former boyfriend. An officer contacted the man, who said the message was meant as a joke and he would send no more.

JUVENILE INTOX-ICATED: A traffic stop at 1:23 a.m. May 15 at the intersection of McHugh Avenue and Porter Street resulted in a juvenile arrested for driving under the influence. Four passengers were taken to the police station and released to parents. The vehicle was impounded.

KID TROUBLE: Police were told the afternoon of May 15 of three juvenile boys on the roof of Southwood Elementary School, throwing rocks at each other and the building. They were returned to parents at the nearby ballfields where they could be supervised.

GOOD NEWS: Police were told the morning of May 14 a wallet containing $125 cash, three credit cards and other items had been stolen from a grocery cart at a city business. The wallet was located with everything intact and returned to the owner.

ANIMAL COM-PLAINT: An area homeowner reported May 14 her daughter and a friend were keeping two pit bulls at her residence. An officer advised he had contacted King County Animal Control and the homeowner should contact the agency for assistance.

TWO CHARGED: A May 14 traffic stop resulted in the driver arrested and booked for lack of a valid driver’s license. A passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Enumclaw Municipal Court.

ALCOHOL OFFENSES: A May 14 traffic stop on state Route 410 resulted in the driver cited for driving under the influence and a passenger arrested for being a minor in possession. The vehicle was impounded.
