BIG BOOM: Police took multiple calls after midnight July 26 from people reporting gunshots in the vicinity of Semanski Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Two females on foot advised of M80-type fireworks being set off at a Semanski residence. When police arrived they received no answer at the home and all the lights were off.

PARENT ARRESTED: Police responded July 26 to a call of a parent having trouble with a daughter who was refusing to return to a group home. After arriving, officers arrested the parent for assault/domestic violence. The daughter was released to a third party, who was to transport her to the group home in Auburn.

TOO MUCH TO DRINK: A report was issued the afternoon of July 26 of a woman face down in the bushes at a Stevenson Avenue location. She was found to be sleeping and was warned about drinking in public. About five hours later, officers again made contact with the woman because they saw her standing at a bus stop, yelling. She was told to control her behavior or risk arrest.

PLANTS PURLOINED: Two males were observed jumping from a van July 26 and taking hanging plants from a Griffin Avenue business. They were not immediately found but the vehicle was identified and police learned the address of the registered owner.

NO SOLICITING: A Sigrist Drive resident notified police July 26, telling of someone going door-to-door soliciting money for a fundraiser. The salesman had reportedly become verbally abusive when the citizen refused to donate. An officer made contact with a group of solicitors and they agreed to leave the area.

FORGED PRESCRIPTION: Police were told the morning of July 25 a forged prescription had been confirmed at a Garrett Street location. An officer responded and a report was taken.

PARKING CONCERN: An area resident called police the afternoon of July 25, concerned about an event causing multiple vehicles to be parked in a McKean Court complex. The caller also was concerned about cars taking up guest spaces. Police checked and found all automobiles were parked legally.

SUSPICIOUS: A Lowell Avenue resident notified police late July 25, concerned about suspicious activity at a neighboring home. The man who had lived there kept returning and the caller suspected drug activity. The man was contacted and explained he still had a few days before he had to vacate permanently.

FAMILY MATTER: Police were asked to respond to a city residence the morning of July 23 regarding a family member who had been asked to leave the home the previous evening, but was found in the bathroom that morning. He was surrounded by medication taken from the caller’s purse, along with other drug paraphernalia. An officer located the suspect on Warner Avenue and took him into custody, to be charged with fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

CELL, LAPTOP TAKEN: After gaining entry through a sliding glass door, someone took a cell phone and laptop computer from a room at a Roosevelt Avenue location. The incident occurred July 23.

JUVENILE TROUBLE: Police took a report the evening of July 23 regarding a disturbance at a Battersby AVenue location. A juvenile female was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence; she was first taken to the local police station, then to a juvenile facility for booking.

ASSAULT: Police responded at 11:17 p.m. July 23 to an alleged assault involving a 19-year-old male and 13-year-old female at Creation Fest. The man was taken into custody and later released to his parents.

NOT FIREWORKS: Police received several calls the evening of July 23 about possible fireworks violations. The noise was attributed to Creation Fest activities at the Enumclaw Expo Center.

PARTY BUSTED: Police responded shortly after midnight July 21 to a Battersby Avenue address following complaints about excessive noise. When police arrived, alcohol was dumped and the party was broken up.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Police were told at 2 a.m. July 20 of an assault at a Leo Place address. The female victim said a man pushed her, tried to take her cell phone and punched a hole in the wall of her apartment prior to leaving. Police responded, confiscated several items of drug paraphernalia for destruction and took a signed statement.

BURGLARY: Police were told July 20 of a commercial burglary at a Roosevelt Avenue address. A read storage area was entered and a log splitter valued at $1,799 was taken. There were no immediate suspects.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A  report of an aggressive pit bull in a parking lot at the Enumclaw Expo Center was reported July 20. An officer took control of the animal and transported it to the police station until King County Animal Control could arrive to take possession of the dog. The breed is prohibited in the city limits.
