RAPE INVESTIGATION: Local police were contacted Sept. 8 by authorities in Jasper, Texas, who are investigating a rape in that city. Enumclaw police were asked to collect evidence from a residence just outside the city.

MONEY STOLEN: Police were contacted at 12:18 p.m. Sept. 7 when a money bag was found to be missing at a Roosevelt Avenue location. It was last seenin a grocery cart. The bag was said to contain $700 in cash and assorted checks.

JUST A TOY: Police were alerted Sept. 7 to a juvenile male brandishing a knife in the vicinity of Semanski Street and Charwila Lane. Contact was made with the youth and it was discovered the knife was a toy.

TOO LOUD: Police received a call at 3:14 a.m. Sept. 6 about a party in the 700 block of Myrtine Street that had been going all weekend. An officer made contact and all involved agreed to disperse and keep the noise down.

STOLEN FROM YARD: A relative of the owner of a Farrelly Street home reported the theft of patio furniture and a windmill valued at $300. The reporting party believed he knew where the windmill was and the owner was going to pursue the matter. If that contact did not work out, a theft report was to be filed.

ARREST ASSIST: A city officer responded to a Rainier Avenue address the afternoon of Sept. 6 to assist King County authorities with the arrest of a burglary suspect. The issue was handled and the suspect was turned over to deputies.

WELFARE CHECK: Child Protective Services asked city police to stop by a home due to concerns about the safety of children. An officer found the home to be cluttered, but there was food in the refrigerator and the kids were clean. CPS was notified of the officer’s finding.

ARSON SUSPECT: An officer was called Sept. 5 to help Buckley police locate an arson suspect in the vicinity of Mud Mountain Road. It was determined the suspect had returned to the Pierce County side of the river.

RIDE WANTED: Three juveniles arrived at the police station at 4:50 a.m. Sept. 4, asking for a ride home. An officer contacted the trio and, when he asked for their parents’ phone numbers, they said they would call a friend and left the station.

BEEN DRINKING: Police were told Sept. 4 of someone drinking from a can of beer while parked in a Roosevelt Avenue lot. An officer made contact and found two men in the car, both of whom had been drinking. The vehicle was secured and the men agreed to leave on foot.

AGENCY ASSIST: King County authorities requested assistance from city police at 10:37 p.m. Sept. 4. A vehicle leaving the White River Amphitheatre almost hit a Washington State Patrol trooper before crashing on 180th Avenue Southeast. The driver fled on foot, prompting the request for city help.

TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 3 resulted in the registered owner of a vehicle being cited for allowing an unlicensed person to drive and furnishing alcohol to a minor. His vehicle was impounded.

DISTURBANCE: Police responded at 4 a.m. to a report of a fight in progress on state Route 410 in the vicinity of Farman Road. Contact by an officer responded in the impound of an illegally-parked vehicle that was creating a traffic hazard. The three people involved were released at the scene.

DAMAGE DONE: Police took a report the morning of Sept. 3 of a large rock thrown through the back window of a vehicle at a Garfield Street location. The damage was estimated at $2,000.

THEFT FROM AUTO: A vehicle prowl during the early-morning hours of Sept. 3 resulted in the loss of cash and two boxes of ammunition, among other things. There was no damage done to the vehicle and there were no suspects.

DRIVING OFFENSE: Police were told Sept. 3 of a woman who had a child blow into a car’s interlock device to get it started. The equipment is installed in vehicles after drivers have been found guilty of offenses involving alcohol. The woman was located and arrested on the interlock violation. Her vehicle was impounded and a juvenile in the car was taken home.

STANDING BY: Police learned Sept 3 of an inmate, taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment, was planning to run away. The belief was based on calls the woman was making. An officer stood by while she was treated, then transported the inmate back to jail.

FOUND PROPERTY: A tote bag containing a laptop computer, digital camera and x-Box accessories were found Sept. 2 in the vicinity of Lafromboise Street and Lincoln Avenue. The items were held for safekeeping.

ALCOHOL OFFENSE: Someone told city police Sept. 2 of a female who had purchased alcohol and given it to minors at a Monroe Avenue location. Police contacted the juveniles. The adult female then arrived at the police station, where she was cited for furnishing alcohol to minors before being released.
