Enumclaw skate park opens

A grand opening will be scheduled when the weather improves.

Ever wanted to skateboard down Mount Rainier?

Well, now you can — or at least, on a smaller replica at Enumclaw’s newly-opened skate park.

The skatepark was officially opened Nov. 22 and was immediately descended upon by skateboarders and scooter riders of all ages.

Builder Grindline Skateparks’ goal for the park was to make it geologically unique to Enumclaw, which is why it features the likely one-of-a-kind mountain feature among the usual ramps, edges, and platforms.

While the park is open for use, the city of Enumclaw wants to remind folks that the landscaping around the park is not complete, and ask users to leave the lawn bedding around the park alone so that grass can be planted in the spring.

There will be a grand opening party in the future, when the weather is more skate friendly, so make sure to check in with Enumclaw’s Parks and Rec Department’s Facebook for more updates.
