Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital hosts a fun event for supporting breast cancer screenings for underserved and uninsured women on the Plateau – Bras for the Cause.

Guests will enjoy chocolate, wine, jewelry and cosmetics from local vendors and can view artfully decorated bras.  There will also be a raffle, silent auction and voting for your favorite bra as the People’s Choice award.

Bras for the Cause will be held on October 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.at the St. Elizabeth Hospital Lobby 1455 Battersby Avenue.

Last year almost 200 people attended the event, raising about $3,800. Breast cancer affects one in eight women regardless of socio-economic status. When early screening could save a life, a basic screening mammogram is the best defense against this disease.
