EPD investigating attempted kidnapping

The incident happened near Byron Kibler Elementary.

The Enumclaw Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping on Kibler Avenue near the elementary school.

According to the Enumclaw School District, which sent out an email to Byron Kibler Elementary School families, an unknown male grabbed a young girl and attempted to pull her down a nearby alley on Tuesday, May 12, around 7:30 p.m.

The EPD said the victim was able to give a description of the suspect’s clothes, but little other information. Additionally, there were no other witnesses and no camera footage.

”Our officers will continue to pursue any leads on this incident, and our School Resource Officer has been very involved, providing extra patrols in the area and staying in communication with the School District,” Public Information Officer Sarah Taylor said.
