Fair features battle of bands

The city of Enumclaw and King County Fair will host its first annual Battle of the Bands competition from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 12.

The city of Enumclaw and King County Fair will host its first annual Battle of the Bands competition from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 12.

There will be six bands participating in this year’s event competing for a prize of $500. In keeping with the Celebrate Homegrown theme of the fair, all bands are local. Each band consists of members between the ages of 13 and 25 and is given a total of 45 minutes for set-up, play and take-down.

The schedule will be:

• 5 to 5:45 p.m., Talk Jonny

• 5:45 to 6:30 p.m., My Biological Attraction

• 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., Perpetual Jet Lag

• 7:15 to 8 p.m., Bread and Circuses

• 8 to 8:45 p.m., Plateau

• 8:45 to 9:30 p.m., Inside Out and Backwards.

Battle of the Bands will take place on the Expo Center’s Main Stage and the winner will be chosen by the audience and will be announced that night shortly after the last performance.

The city of Enumclaw and King County Fair Celebrate Homegrown will take place Aug. 12-14 at the Enumclaw Expo Center, 45224 284th Ave. S.E.

The fair will be open Thursday from 10:00 am-10:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am-11:00 pm. Get all of the details at www.enumclawexpocenter.com. Cost is $5 for adults, $1 for children 15 and under and parking is FREE.
