Officers met with the reporting party regarding a check he believed to have been stolen.

Forgery and Theft: Officers met with the reporting party regarding a check he believed to have been stolen. The check had been sent by a tenant of the subject and according to them the check had cleared. It appeared the check was deposited using the subject’s sisters name but she lives out of state. The reporting party has a locked mail box and has not noticed any damage to it. The tenant is working with their bank regarding the check. No suspects or leads were available at the time of the report.

Assault: Officers met with the reporting party shortly before 2 a.m. He stated that him and his roommate got into a physical fight and his roommate hit him on the side of the head with a hammer. Officers made their way to the residence and contacted the roommate. He shared a completely different story of events and show multiple wounds. East Pierce Fire and Rescue treated him at the scene and advised he go to the hospital. After investigation and due to the severity of the roommate’s injuries, the reporting party was charged with assault four domestic violence. The reporting officer recommended this case be forwarded to the prosecuting attorney for review.

Shoplifting: Officers responded to a state Route 410 store when a shoplifting suspect was in custody. When officers arrived they were told that the suspect had stolen clothing and food totaling $130. She was arrested and admitted to officers that she never intended to pay for the items. She was issued a citation for shoplifting and released at the scene. The store also issued her a permanent trespass from all store locations. The officer requested this be forwarded to the city prosecutor.
