Hungry thief arrested for hiding $34 in steaks under his shirt | Bonney Lake Police Blotter

All subjects in the police reports are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

PROWL: Police on Jan. 13 were dispatched to Target for a report of a vehicle prowl. The victim reported that while she was shopping, an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and removed an in-dash DVD player valued at $1,261. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY: Officers on Jan. 19 were dispatched to the Bonney Lake Dental Center for a report of a burglary. According to the reporting parties, a window in the building’s vestibule was broken and cabinets and drawers had been rifled through. Several items were reported missing including a tank of nitrous oxide, some lidocaine, a business credit card and a personal check. Police located a backpack outside the building containing tools commonly used in burglaries. Police are investigating.

MAIL THEFT: Police on Jan 25 responded to a report of a mail theft in the 7700 block of 192nd Avenue East. Some mail from the residence was discovered prior in a stolen vehicle. There was a similar incident in the neighborhood around Christmas. Police are investigating.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Officers on Jan. 25 were dispatched to Sunrise Dental for a report of an attempted burglary. Employees reported damage to a rear door where an unknown suspect attempted to enter the business. The suspect did not gain entry and nothing was missing, but there was damage to the building. Police are investigating.

VANDALISM: Officers on Jan. 26 took a report in the lobby of the Public Safety Building regarding a malicious mischief that resulted in damage to a car. The daughter of the reporting party stated parked at a sporting event at Bonney Lake High School Jan. 24 and returned to find the brake lights of her car smashed. Police are investigating.

FRAUD: Police on Jan. 26 took a report in the lobby of the Public Safety Building regarding a credit card fraud. The victim reported her debit card was lost, but returned to her bank, however there were three unauthorized charges on the card totaling more than $40. The card has been canceled and police are investigating.

STEAKS TO GO: Police on Jan. 29 were dispatched to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Police immediately recognized the man from prior contacts. The suspect told police he was hungry and attempted to steal steaks valued at more than $34 from the meat department by concealing them in his shirt. He was transported to Buckley Jail and booked on charges of theft.
