Know before you go if traveling over Snoqualmie Pass next week | WSDOT

Rock blasting, lane closures and exit closures are planned.

With the long Labor Day weekend on the forefront of most drivers’ minds, next week’s trip over Snoqualmie Pass will bring delays if drivers don’t know before they go.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close Interstate 90 at 7 p.m. for about an hour each night Tuesday, Sept. 2 through Thursday, Sept. 4. During rock blasting closures, eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound drivers will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).

Intermittent rolling slowdowns could cause 20 minute delays Wednesday through Friday during the day from Gold Greek (milepost 56) to Price Creek (milepost 61). Drivers will also experience minor delays due to single lane closures from Denny Creek (milepost 47) to the Price Creek area (milepost 67) Tuesday through Friday.

Construction work will require the closure of exit 53 from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday. Exit 70 will close to traffic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday so crews can make repairs to the pavement.
