Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist charged Daniel Adam Mills, 30, with robbery in the first degree for holding up a Lakewood bank yesterday. He is a suspect in several other recent bank robberies in the Puget Sound region. Mills is scheduled to be arraigned today at 1:30 p.m. in room 270 of the County-City Building in Tacoma.

On Sept. 8, 2014, Mills entered a Lakewood bank and handed the teller a note that said, “This is a robbery, give me all your money and no one will get hurt.” The teller complied, giving Mills nearly $2,000. He fled.

During their initial investigation, police received a tip about Mills’ location. They responded to a nearby neighborhood, spotted Mills and arrested him.

Detectives believe Mills may be connected to other local bank robberies in recent months. Investigations into these robberies are ongoing.

Mills has previously been convicted of robbery and attempted robbery.

Charges are only allegations and a person is presumed innocent unless he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
