SR 410 now open after major collision’ | UPDATE

Two people are reported dead, and another received lift-threatening injuries.

6:36 p.m. update: SR 410 is now open to traffic at Mud Mountain Road.

4:16 p.m. update: According to Trooper Rick Johnson, the crash that has closed SR 410 was caused by a head-on collision between a male and female heading east and one male heading west.

The two heading east died at the scene; the other driver was flown to Harborview Medical Center.

Who was at-fault is still unclear; Johnson added law enforcement has not seen any signs of impairment that might have caused the crash.

The Washington State Department of Transportation issued the alert at 3:51 p.m. today, April 28.

A Twitter message from ZONE3PIO, made about a half an hour earlier, reported the crash was between milepost 37 and 38 (Mud Mountain Road), with two fatalities and one person sustaining life threatening injuries.

There is no estimated time for reopening or detour around the scene.
