ASSAULT: An officer responded at 1:42 a.m. July 9 to a Griffin Avenue address and a reported disturbance involving two men. One man departed before the officer’s arrival. It appeared that the other man had been assaulted, but he declined medical aid and refused to press charges.
ROAD RAGE: A road rage incident was reported to police the evening of July 9. Both of the involved vehicles were said to be in a Griffin Avenue parking lot. Officers made contact and settled the issue.
CAN’T SLEEP HERE: Police responded the morning of July 9 to a Stevenson Avenue address where they found a man who appeared to have been in a fight. The man was evaluated by medical personnel and advised that he could not sleep beside the building.
CARD USED: A citizen arrived at the police station the morning of July 8 to report a Visa card had been used for unauthorized purchases. The card was missing from its usual spot and the victim determined there had been several transactions on the card that neither he nor his wife made.
FRAUD REPORT: A citizen told police July 8 he sold an item on Craigslist valued at $30 and received a check from the buyer made out for more than $2,000. A bank confirmed the check as fraudulent. The victim was told to destroy the check.
NOTHING TAKEN: Police were told the morning of July 8 that several vehicles had been prowled on Anadoll Avenue, but nothing was taken. Extra patrol of the area was requested.
VEHICLE FIRE: City police were called at 9:18 p.m. July 7 to assist with a fully-involved vehicle fire on Southeast Mud Mountain Road. In was unknown what cause the 2010 Jeep to go up in flames. The reporting party and an infant were able to stay away from the blaze. The scene was turned over to a King County fire investigator.
VEHICLE THEFT: A 2001 Honda Civic was reported stolen July 7 from a Roosevelt Avenue lot. It was noted the vehicle had been used in a few crimes in the Milton area.
INTOXICATED CUSTOMER: Staff at a Griffin Avenue business notified police at 1 a.m. July 7 when an intoxicated person refused to leave the store. Employees had refused to sell the person alcohol due to the level of intoxication. After police arrived the unwanted customer agreed to leave.
MAIL HEIST: A Schmid Street resident told police July 6 that mail had been opened and taken, with envelopes left behind.
DOG TROUBLE: A small, brown-and-white dog was found creating a hazard July 6 in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Mountain Villa Drive. An owner could not be identified, so a citizen agreed to care for the animal until King County Animal Control could arrive to take possession.
DISTURBANCE: Police were told July 6 of a Washington Avenue dispute in which a verbal argument escalated to the point where one man was chasing another man down the alley. The issue was settled upon police contact and the men were warned to stay away from each other.
CYCLIST OK: Police responded the evening of July 6 to the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Fell Street, where a motorcycle was driven into a guardrail. The cycle was damaged but the rider, after being examined by emergency medical personnel, was found to be unhurt.
FIREWORKS: Police responded to multiple complaints of fireworks being discharged during the early-morning hours of July 5. Two calls came shortly after midnight, one came at 3:30 a.m. and another at 4:13 a.m.
MISSING, FOUND: A Warner Avenue resident told police at 1:11 a.m. July 5 of two women yelling in the street and knocking on his door. She reporting party had offered to call 911, but the women declined assistance. It turned out they were searching for a child who was found.
UNWANTED CUSTOMER: Police responded at 10:20 a.m. July 5 to a Stevenson Avenue business, where a man was refusing to leave; he was unhappy after being told his vehicle could not be repaired. The issue was settled upon police contact. The man was refunded his money and ordered to stay away from the business.
THREE WARRANTS: A citizen called police the afternoon of July 5, concerned about a man who was looking into vehicles. He was contacted and found to be the subject of three outstanding arrest warrants issued by outside agencies. He was taken into custody on a Bonney Lake warrant and booked into the Enumclaw jail.
DAMAGE DONE: A resident of the Kibler Avenue area told police July 5 she found a shed had been broken into and its walls tagged with graffiti when she took her kids to a playground. Officers contacted a custodian, who was not aware of the damage. He was to file a report with police.
