What Happened at the Metropolitan King County Council

At today’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:
–Proclaimed the week of May 12-18 as Police Week in King County in conjunction with National Police Week.
- Unanimously approved an ordinance implementing public transportation service changes and the Snoqualmie Valley alternative service demonstration program in September 2013, February 2014 and June 2014 scheduled service changes (Ordinance 2013-0213).
Introduction of ordinances and motions for Committee action:
- An ordinance creating a Public Defender District and Public Defense Advisory Board for King County (Ordinance 2013-0237). The ordinance was sent to the Committee of the Whole for consideration.
- An ordinance implementing the charter amendment creating the Department of Public Defense (Ordinance 2013-0242). The ordinance was sent to the Committee of the Whole for consideration.
