JUVENILE TROUBLE

• A parent contacted police April 8, requesting that an officer speak to her daughter about theft and its consequences. The issue was settled upon police contact.

ROCKS THROWN

• Police were told April 8 of rocks being thrown at a Link Avenue home. An officer checked the area and went door-to-door on Laukala Place looking for the suspects. The rock throwing has been an ongoing problem and police will be doing extra patrols in the area.

ON THE LOOSE

• A brown dog was seen running loose April 6 near the parking lot of the Enumclaw Foothills Trail. The dog, with a chain around its neck, was not aggressive but would not allow anyone near. King County Animal Control responded and spent an hour, without success, attempting to capture the dog. A citizen was able to provide water for the animal, which was seen sitting in the trail parking lot the following day. The county agency was attempting to make a return trip.

DISORDERLY

• Staff at Enumclaw Regional Hospital asked police to help April 7 with a disorderly patient in the emergency room waiting area. An officer contacted the man and advised him to quiet down.

DRUG CHARGES

• A traffic stop at 1:15 a.m. April 6 near Porter Street and Kibler Avenue resulted in a passenger arrested for possession of marijuana and the driver arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded.

HAPPY EASTER

• At a little after 2 a.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to a Church Street address in Wilkeson, responding to a call about threats being made with a knife. When police arrived, there were several people arguing. While attempting to arrest a female for assault, she resisted. An enraged man approached the arresting officer in an aggressive manner as if to attack him. Ultimately, both subjects were booked into the Buckley jail.

TWO IN TROUBLE

• When a 27-year-old driver was pulled over for a moving violation about 11 p.m. Friday, the passenger of the vehicle, who was younger than 21, was found to be exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol. While the drunk youth was placed into custody and later returned to a guardian, the driver was discovered to have three outstanding warrants and also was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was booked into the Buckley jail.

MISERABLE MAN

• A Buckley policeman making his rounds early Friday morning witnessed what at first appeared to be a man sleeping on the floor of a business along state Route 410. Upon further investigation the officer discovered that the male subject was inebriated. He told the officer he had staggered into some sticker bushes, which was consistent with the scratches all over his soaking wet body. The intoxicated individual requested that the officer give him a courtesy transport to a nearby motor inn and get him a room.

Before assisting the man, the officer collected a voluntary breath sample which read .273. Emergency medical services were immediately called to the scene and determined the man would be alright.
