Enumclaw

ASSAULT

• Police and an aid unit responded to a reported assault at 1:49 a.m. Thursday at a Roosevelt Avenue location. The victim could not confirm who assaulted him.

ROAD SPILL

• A spill on the road at the intersection of state Route 410 and Roosevelt Avenue was reported Thursday afternoon. The spill, which appeared to be diesel, was cleaned up.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

• A citizen witnessed an altercation between a man and woman just after noon Thursday. The man was driving recklessly in the vicinity of Cole Street and Initial Avenue, driving in circles while the woman sat in the back seat with an infant on her lap. The rear door was open and the woman could not close it due to the man’s driving. She was finally able to flee the vehicle and the man drove off in the older model Ford sport utility vehicle. The woman was taken to the police station so she could call her mother. Police could not locate the man and the woman declined to press charges at the time.

NOISE COMPLAINT

• Police received a complaint of excessive noise coming from a Roosevelt Avenue address at 1:11 a.m. Oct. 21. Upon police arrival the noise was not too bad, but several patrons were standing outside smoking and yelling obscenities; the owner agreed to handle the situation.

MEDICATION THEFT

• A citizen arrived at the police station the mornng of Oct. 21 to report medication had been taken from his vehicle while it was parked at a Roosevelt Avenue address. The victim provided the name of a possible suspect.

FORGERY

• Police were told the afternoon of Oct. 20 of a prescription that had been altered. A suspect had attempted to use the forged form at a Roosevelt Avenue business. The following day, the suspect was taken into custody by Buckley police, transferred to Enumclaw authorities and charged with prescription forgery.

SEVERAL CHARGES

• A man surrendered Oct. 20 in the lobby of the Enumclaw police station. He was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, telephone harassment, driving with a suspended license and failure to appear for a court date. He was taken into custody and booked; bail was $25,000.

UNWANTED

• Police responded to a Fell Street address at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 19 after learning of an unwanted man on the grounds. The subject was gone upon an officer’s arrival and police noted they would contact the Enumclaw School District to determine if the district wanted a “trespass letter” issued. The district agreed, a letter was prepared and was to be given to the suspect.

NO PROBLEM

• Police received two 911 calls, both hang-ups, the evening of Oct. 19. The calls had originated from the manager’s office of a Chinook Avenue apartment complex. The office was closed, but a neighbor reported seeing a couple of kids running from the area.

THEFT FROM AUTO

• A vehicle was broken into the evening of Oct. 19 while parked at Enumclaw High School. Taken were a laptop computer, speakers and other items. There was no damage to the vehicle, which had been left unlocked. Both the driver and a passenger were victims of the theft.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• Police received a 911 call at 8:28 p.m. Oct. 18. A woman’s voice could be heard, yelling at someone to get off of her. The phone was initially traced to an address that does not exist, but police were able to track down the caller by contacting her cell phone provider. Officers responded to a Florence Street address and took a man into custody for fourth-degree assault and interfering with a domestic violence report.

BURGLARY

• A city resident returned from being out of town for a couple of days and discovered his apartment had been burglarized. The report was issued Oct. 17 from a Leo Place address. The victim agreed to provide a list of missing items.

PURSE THEFT

• A woman reported her purse had been stolen Oct. 16 from a shopping cart at a Garrett Street address. The brown leather purse contained $10 cash, Social Security card and a debit card. The suspect left the building but was seen on a security camera. Store employees reported seeing the suspect before and agreed to call police if she returned.

Buckley

LEWD BEHAVIOR

• At 8:15 p.m. Saturday on the corner of A Street and Spiketon Road, an officer made contact with a 20-year old man who was urinating in a public place. The man, who was exhibiting signs of having consumed liquor, was taken into custody, then was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene.

THEFT

• After midnight Saturday officers were dispatched to a Railroad Avenue residence to check out the report of a theft of several items that had disappeared from the woman’s open back porch.

The woman making the report, told police she suspected her husband had taken the items while she was at work. The victim was provided with a written statement form and an inventory sheet for all the items she believed had been stolen. She was also told that the case was being forwarded to investigations and that she should furnish an updated copy of her restraining order.

DEFECTIVE LIGHT

• On Friday evening a car was pulled over by police for having a defective tail light at the intersection of state Route 410 and Park Avenue. When the officer requested the female driver’s license, she told him that she had lost her license in a store, but that she could furnish identification. When the policeman ran a check of her identification through the Department of Licensing computer, it was temporarily out of service. The officer later asked dispatch to run the ID and the woman’s license came up as having been suspended. The officer mailed the woman a notice of infraction and a criminal citation.

HIT AND RUN

• A man sitting at a local bar had a witness come up to him and notified him that he had seen a man smash into his car and then take off. The witness had managed to jot down the suspect’s license plate number and gave it to police. Police combed the area for the hit and run perp, but could not locate the guilty party. A state collision report was completed, pictures were taken of the damage and the information was forwarded to investigations for a follow-up.
