• On April 14 at 9:44 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed during a routine check of a vehicle the 30-year-old female’s driver’s license was suspended in the third degree. The driver told the officer she knew her license was suspended and she did not have identification with her. The woman was cited and released at the scene. On April 20 at 08:31 p.m. the officer was contacted by a woman stating she let someone borrow her car on April 18. The woman stated the person she let borrow the car used her name to avoid being arrested. The officer located the 30-year-old woman and arrested her for making false/misleading statements and driving while license suspended in the third degree.

BONNEY LAKE

SUSPENDED LICENSE

• On April 14 at 9:44 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed during a routine check of a vehicle the 30-year-old female’s driver’s license was suspended in the third degree. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• A 46-year-old female was stopped April 21 at approximately 4:30 p.m. for failing to signal on a turn on Church Lake Road. The vehicle drifted past the center line on the road on three occasions. The vehicle failed to signal on Sumner-Buckley Highway and did not come to a complete stop at a stop sign and rolled around the corner and made the right turn without coming to a stop. The driver appeared impaired and submitted to tests and reportedly did poorly. The driver later admitted to using crack before driving. A search of the vehicle resulted in the finding of two crack pipes in the vehicle. The woman was cited for driving under the influence and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF

• An officer responded to a report of malicious mischief on April 19 at 10:34 a.m. on 190 Avenue East. The 35-year-old female reporting party stated the damage to her vehicle was probably $500 following a retention block being thrown into her window.

VEHICLE PROWL

• A 26-year-old female reported her vehicle was broken into and her purse was stolen from inside on April 20. Police responded at 9:40 p.m. to the location on state Route 410. The reporting party stated her wedding ring, wallet, cellphone and credit cards were inside her purse. She estimated the theft occurred between 7:40 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. The driver’s side door was pried and the handle was cracked. No prints were located.

BURGLARY

• Police responded to a burglary complaint April 21 at approximately 3:19 p.m. at a residence on 75th Street East. The 35-year-old male and 34-year-old female reporting parties told police they arrived home after shopping and noticed several video games and packs of cigarettes missing. The 35-year-old completed a theft inventory list.

SUMNER

BURGLARY

• On April 16, an officer responded to Elm Street for report of a burglary and vehicle prowl. A woman reported that she had placed her boyfriend’s 6-year-old son in the sport utility vehicle, started it, and ran back into the house to get her son. When she returned, the 6 year old said someone had been in the car. He told police a man had jumped in and when he turned around and saw him sitting in the back, the man cursed, grabbed the purse on the passenger seat and jumped back out. He fled in a waiting vehicle. It is under investigation.

GRAFFITI

• On April 18, officers responded to a report of juveniles near an empty barn on 160th Avenue. Officers found three young juveniles near the barn. They said they were looking for lizards, but older kids had gone into the barn. Officers advised them not to look for lizards on the property and entered the barn, which was clear. They heard voices coming from the woods east of the barn and found three individuals exiting a nearby building. They said a fourth was inside. The officers entered and found evidence of fresh graffiti. The individuals said they were repainting over “bad graffiti.” They were arrested for criminal trespass and malicious mischief.

ASSAULT

• On April 23, a female called 911 from a neighbor’s house on Valley Avenue to report her ex-boyfriend assaulted her. Police officers talked to both individuals. The male said he came over to talk about the care of their 2 year old. He said the female started running to windows and yelling for help for no apparent reason. The female said the male wouldn’t leave when she asked, so she tried to leave. She tried to go out the front door, but he blocked her path. She tried to go out windows, but he yanked her back. Finally, she got out the back window and ran to the neighbor’s. She had bruising consistent with her story, so the male was booked for unlawful imprisonment, assault and interfering with the report of domestic violence.
