Prowlers keep busy around town | Enumclaw police reports Jan. 27-30

PROWLING APLENTY: Police were told Jan. 30 a man had items stolen from his truck two nights in a row. The total value of the missing items was estimated at $700. Also on the 30th, a Washington Avenue resident reported someone had rummaged through a vehicle; nothing was stolen and there was no damage. The same was true during a prowling incident on Martin Way. A report of a second prowling incident on Martin Way indicated items had been stolen. On Pioneer Avenue, no damage was done during a prowl, but a GPS unit was taken.

PROWLING APLENTY: Police were told Jan. 30 a man had items stolen from his truck two nights in a row. The total value of the missing items was estimated at $700. Also on the 30th, a Washington Avenue resident reported someone had rummaged through a vehicle; nothing was stolen and there was no damage. The same was true during a prowling incident on Martin Way. TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 3:39 a.m. Jan. 30 on state Route 410 resulted in the driver being arrested for obstructing an officer and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was released upon receipt of a $10,000 bond.

NOT STOLEN: A resident of Grand Fir Drive told police Jan. 29 his vehicle had been stolen. The caller was then notified by the King County Sheriff’s Office that the vehicle had not been stolen, but has been impounded the previous night as it was thought to be abandoned and wrecked.

OVERDOSE: Police responded the afternoon of Jan. 29 to a Pioneer Street address, assisting emergence medical personnel with a patient who had possibly overdosed on prescription medication.

SOLICITING: A call to police the afternoon of Jan. 29 had an officer responding to the Hawk Court neighborhood to check on solicitors working the area. Subject were contacted and, after being advised of city policies, agreed to leave the area.

BUILDING TAGGED: Police took a report Jan. 28 regarding graffiti on the side of a Wells Street building. A business owner was going to wash it off or, if that failed, repaint the wall.

HARASSMENT: An officer responded Jan. 28 to a Semanski Street address and an ongoing issue of harassment. All parties were contacted and the parent of a victim was provided information about obtaining an anti-harassment order.

COMMITTED: At 3:12 a.m. Jan. 27, an intoxicated man was reportedly walking into traffic on state Route 164 in the vicinity of 244th Avenue Southeast. Police made contact and determined he was a threat to his own safety and others. With that, he was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for an involuntary commitment.

RAPE INVESTIGATION: An officer made contact the evening of Jan. 27 with a victim and parent concerning an alleged assault. A report was taken and forwarded for investigation.
