East Pierce Fire & Rescue has launched a free CPR program for people who want to learn CPR, but don’t require a certification card for work.

The new, one-hour “Sidewalk CPR” course will focus on essential life-saving skills, including “Hands-on” CPR for adult victims and recognition of heart attack and strokes.

The course will be offered once a month at the fire department headquarters in Bonney Lake. However, homeowners associations, church groups, or businesses in the district, can request that the firefighters provide this valuable training on-site or for a special class for a local group.

For more information about this new, free course, contact Corina Charest or East Pierce Public Education Specialist Dina Sutherland at 253-863-1800, or go to www.eastpiercefire.org.
