SR 167 and SR 410 ramps close next week for paving near Sumner

Drivers near Puyallup and in Sumner should prepare for overnight ramp closures and detours affecting traffic on State Routes 167, 410 and 512 next week.

Drivers near Puyallup and in Sumner should prepare for overnight ramp closures and detours affecting traffic on State Routes 167, 410 and 512 next week.

Weather permitting, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will work to create a smooth surface for drivers by applying new asphalt.

Ramp closures for Wednesday, July 9

  • Crews will close the southbound SR 167 exit to westbound SR 512 from 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 10. Drivers will detour via State Route 161.
  • An hour earlier at 9 p.m., crews will close the right southbound lane of SR 167 approaching SR 512 and the right westbound lane of SR 410 approaching southbound SR 167 in preparation for the ramp closure. The lanes will also reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday.

Ramp closures for Thursday, July 10

  • At 10 p.m., crews will close three ramps:
    • eastbound SR 410 exit to East Main Traffic Avenue;
    • East Main Traffic Avenue on-ramp to eastbound SR 410;
    • westbound SR 410 exit to East Main Traffic Avenue.
  • An hour earlier at 9 p.m. in preparation for the ramp closures, crews will close a single westbound and eastbound lane of SR 410 between mileposts 10 and 9. Signed detours will be provided for ramp traffic.
  • All ramps and lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, July 11.

The Washington State Patrol will conduct traffic control during the closures. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and add travel times to reach their destinations.
