Sumner places listed among favorites in KING 5 contest

King 5’s Best of Western Washington honors the favorite picks as voted on by area residents and Sumner is represented in several categories.

King 5’s Best of Western Washington honors the favorite picks as voted on by area residents and Sumner is represented in several categories.

Voters select from 178 categories covering areas like arts and entertainment, fashion, beauty, nightlife, health and fitness, local services, dining and local personalities.

The Best Tiny Town winners were announced in May and Sumner placed third, but the self-proclaimed “Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World” has businesses competing in categories like Best Dance Studio like Action Dance and Performing Arts Academy.

It’s a Dog’s World Training Center is nominated as the Best in Training, Today’s Country Store is nominated for Best Antiques, and Sumner Valley Preschool is competing for Best Daycare.

The categories range in a variety of professions as well. In the category of Favorite Dentist, Sumner’s April Ziegele, who placed in the Top 5 in last year’s poll, is nominated.

Another previous Top 5 finisher is Secret Garden Tea, which is competing again for the title of Best Tea House.

Dixie’s Home Cookin’ is competing for Best Breakfast and Farelli’s Pizza and Pool Co. is competing in the Best Pizza category.

Other nominees in other categories are Sorci’s Italian Cafe and Enoteca, Beyond the Bridge Cafe, Today’s Country Store, 5 Stars Movers and Delivery and Windmill Gardens.
