Suspected DUI involves Buckley, Enumclaw residents

The Buckley man was sent to Good Samaritan; the Enumclaw locals didn’t report any injuries.

A car crash outside Buckley on Jan. 1 resulted in one local being transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, the alleged driver-at-fault, from Othello, WA, was going southbound on state Route 165 around 1:30 p.m. with a Buckley passenger.

At the same time, another vehicle with two Enumclaw residents, was heading north; the first vehicle crossed the double yellow lines between South Prairie and Buckley and struck the second vehicle head-on. The road was closed for close to three hours.

The occupants of the first car were sent to Good Samaritan; neither were reportedly wearing a seatbelt, and law enforcement has recommended DUI charges against the driver.
