TACOMA: Bonney Lake mom under investigation in vehicular homicide of two son

A 41-year old Bonney Lake woman is under investigation of vehicular homicide after an accident which killed her two sons over the weekend in Tacoma.

A 41-year old Bonney Lake woman is under investigation of vehicular homicide after an accident which killed her two sons over the weekend in Tacoma.

Tacoma Police Department reported the accident occurred about 10:35 p.m. Saturday on Bay Street near the Emerald Queen Casino.

Police said the woman and the two boys, ages 8 and 11, were headed home after the Monster Truck Show at Tacoma Dome. She was driving eastbound on Bay Street when she took the corner wide and went over a concrete barrier and into oncoming traffic.

The woman’s car was struck on the passenger’s side by a small SUV in the westbound lane. Both boys were seriously injured and taken by paramedics to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

The 8-year-old boy died Sunday evening after surgery and the 11-year-old died a short time after arriving at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was not seriously injured.

The name of the two boys, who resided in Enumclaw, have not been released at press time Monday.
