Thank You

You may already know from a recent article written by Brenda Sexton that our Enumclaw High School Wind Ensemble is scheduled to travel to Vancouver, B.C., in May for their performance at the National Events Festival. To help reduce the per student cost, a group of EHS band booster/wind ensemble parents organized, within two months, a Sweet Escape dinner, dance and auction that was held on Saturday, Feb. 28. I would like to express my gratitude to those parents who worked especially hard and tirelessly on this with me to make it successful; Sue Beckwith, Caroline Bellinger, Melinda Brasier, Janelle Frazer, Jody Horn, Britt Nelson, Kelly Weiman and Joan Welsh.

As the chair for this event, I would also like to thank everyone who supported our band in the following ways; all the wind ensemble students who sold tickets and worked at the event including our wind ensemble student Michael Jungers who did a wonderful job as the evenings’ auctioneer, Mr. Stevens, our EHS music director, those who attended this event and bid on yummy desserts and other wonderful items and Brenda Sexton for writing the article.

I would also like to express my gratitude to all the local businesses and individuals listed below who donated to our event. Our event would not have occurred without your support of our students and music program, and it is very much appreciated! (I apologize if I forgot to list someone below.) With decreasing school district budgets and increasing expenses, this support and recognition of music in schools is significant.
