A man and a woman were sent to the hospital Sunday following a stabbing assault near South Prairie.
East Pierce Fire and Rescue workers responded to a small housing development between South Prairie and Orting at 12:30 p.m. Sunday after the assault was called in to emergency services.
A male victim was transported to a trauma center with potentially life-threatening injuries. A female victim who sustained non-life-threatening injuries was also transported to a hospital.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case.
UPDATE: After an influx of concern, a source from inside East Pierce Fire and Rescue wished to elaborate the attack was not a random act of violence. Additionally, the male patient did not sustain a chest wound, as reported by KIRO Seattle. The source could not elaborate further in order to protect the patients’ confidentiality. The Courier-Herald is awaiting comment from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department to expand on this article.
