Lakeridge Middle School

The new Lakeridge Middle School’s ribbon cutting ceremony is 4:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, kicking off an open house. A dedication ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

The Sumner School District building has been open for weeks to students, teachers and staff, but the open house will give the community at large the chance to explore the new facility.

Construction on a new Lakeridge campus began during the 2009-10 school year and at the beginning of the summer break, the old campus was demolished to accommodate further construction. The gym was left intact for modification. Work on the main school building was completed in September before classes began.

Lakeridge is at 5909 Myers Rd. E.

Donald Eismann Elementary

Dr. Donald Eismann, retired superintendent for Sumner School District, will be recognized by the district board of directors at an Oct. 27 open house and dedication ceremony at Donald Eismann Elementary. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.

Eismann was selected as namesake for his great impact on the quality of education for students and he played a considerable role in the establishment of his namesake school – then called Elementary No. 9 – in the Cascadia development.

Visitors are invited to donate a new book to the library’s collection.

The school is at 13802 Canyon Falls Boulevard in Bonney Lake.

Victor Falls Elementary

Victor Falls Elementary School’s ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17, kicking off an open house. A dedication ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

Open house tours will be available to the public following the ribbon cutting.

Victor Falls reopened this school year following an extensive refurbishment. The facility is now designed to be environmentally friendly and long-lasting. During the yearlong reconstruction, students were relocated to Elementary No. 9.

Victor Falls is at 11401 188th Ave. Ct. E. in Bonney Lake.
