Used book sale, disaster preparedness seminar and killer whales at Sumner Library

Help support library services and find great bargains on used books, CDs and DVDs donated by residents. Funds from the sale will help the Friends sponsor events for children and adults as well as furnishings and other needs at the library.

Disaster preparedness, whale tales and a used book sale await the community during free events at Sumner Pierce County Library, 1116 Fryar Ave.

Used Book Sale. Saturday, March 16, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, 1 – 3 p.m.

Disaster Preparedness. Thursday, March 28, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

How can individuals be prepared? What do families need to have ready in case of a disaster? Sumner Police Department representatives will answer these questions and provide strategies for being prepared in the case of unforeseen disasters.

Killer Whale Tales Family Story Night. Thursday, April 4, 6 p.m.

Explore the complex relationships whales share with each other and the environment around them. Jeff Hogan, educator and storyteller, tells this story through performance, slides, video and real orca calls. Ages 6 and up. Registration required. Register online @www.piercecountylibrary.org/calendar
