Northcentral Washington residents will have an opportunity to discuss fish and wildlife issues with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Director Phil Anderson and other WDFW staff members at the annual Brewster Roundtable meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The 13th annual public roundtable is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Columbia Cove Recreation building, 508 W. Cliff Ave., Brewster, on the Okanogan-Douglas county line.
“As in the past, we plan to cover hunting and fishing issues, but this year we will also address the impacts of the Carlton Complex Fire on wildlife, agency lands operations, and hunting opportunities,” said Jim Brown, WDFW Northcentral Regional Director.
“Folks rightly want to know what we are doing to plan for potential winter impacts to displaced wildlife,” said Brown, who lives within five miles of the fire’s final line. “They also want to know about hunting prospects in the area and how we plan to restore wildlife habitat damaged by the fire and the flooding that followed.”
Brown said the meeting also will include a presentation by WDFW staff on the department’s financial outlook and budget proposals for the two-year period that begins July 1, 2015.
