West end of Foothills Trail to close for ADA improvements

The closure begins Oct. 9 for about three weeks

The Foothills Trail will be closed for several weeks on its west end.

According to Pierce County, a section of the trail between the 136th Street closing and the Military Road crossing, right between the Orting and East Puyallup trailheads, will be closed for three weeks starting Oct. 9 while the county makes ADA accessibility improvements.

There will be no detour during the closure.

Additionally, another closure is expected later this fall just south of the Crocker Parking trailhead, east of Orting, when the Washington State Department of Transportation begins geotechnical drilling for fish passage improvements.
