Woman found dead off SR 164 identified | Update

Washington State Patrol discovered Marilyn Wright in a white truck and with a gunshot wound to the head on Feb. 13.

Update, Feb. 17:

The woman recently found dead last week off SR 164 outside Enumclaw has been identified.

Marilyn Wright, 41, was discovered dead in a truck around the 43400 block of 212th Avenue SE.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Wright died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The manner of death — whether it was self-inflicted or inflicted by another party — remains unknown.

The medical examiner’s office did not reveal where Wright used to live, and King County’s Sheriff’s Office was unable to confirm her place of residence.

A spokesperson added the case is still active with the Major Crimes unit.

An unknown woman with a gunshot wound was found dead outside Enumclaw yesterday, Feb. 13.

Around noon, the Washington State Patrol trooper was flagged down on SR 164, around the 43400 block of 212th Avenue SE. WSP contacted the King County Sheriff’s Office shortly after, and has taken on the investigation.

According to KCSO, the woman was found in a white truck. She had a gunshot wound, but it has not been announced where the wound was or her cause of death.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the body; the identity of the deceased has not been released.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we are treating this death investigation as a suspicious death,” Community Engagement Liaison Manny Apostol Jr. said in a statement.

Other reports say the man who flagged down law enforcement has been questioned, but not as a suspect.
