ARREST WARRANT: An officer made contact at 8:40 a.m. July 30 with a person sleeping in front of the public library. The subject was arrested on an outside warrant for theft and was transported to the city jail to await pick-up.
WEAPON IMPLIED: A victim arrived at the police station lobby at 7:50 p.m. July 29 to report an assault. Following an interview, police determined it had been an attempted strong-arm robbery where it was implied a weapon might be used. Forty minutes later, a citizen arrived at the lobby, reporting an attempted armed robbery where a weapon was implied.
STOLEN FROM AUTOS: Police took two reports the afternoon of July 29 regarding items stolen from automobiles. A call at 2:15 p.m. involved items taken while a vehicle was parked in front of a Roosevelt Avenue business; a second call, at 2:56 p.m., involved a vehicle parked at the high school.
BURGLARY: A commercial burglary was reported the morning of July 29. Someone gained entry to a Fell Street building and sprayed foam from fire extinguishers inside. Nothing was stolen; the loss was determined to be the cost of cleaning up and refilling the extinguishers.
PARK CLOSED: Police took a report at 2:27 a.m. July 29 regarding juveniles repeatedly entering a Griffin Avenue hotel. An officer contacted four suspects at Rotary Centennial Park; the officer advised that the park was closed and they should go home.
GRAFFITI: A wall of a McDougall Avenue building was tagged with spray paint, according to a report issued the morning of July 29. It was determined the area could be painted over. There were no immediate suspects or witnesses.
TIRES SLASHED: Two vehicle tires were slashed at a Kibler Avenue address. The report was issued the morning of July 29. There were no immediate witnesses or suspects.
HARASSMENT: A citizen told police July 29 of receiving a harassing telephone call from an unknown man. An officer dialed the number of the suspect call and a man claimed no knowledge of the situation, adding that he had only recently purchased the phone. The officer advised that calls should no longer be made to the victim.
THREAT MADE: A woman told police July 28 a man had threatened to return to a Griffin Avenue location and kill her husband. The suspect, who is known to have mental issues, was located at the intersection of Griffin and Garrett Street. He was ordered to stay away from the Griffin Avenue location.
