Charles Dwight Young

Charles Dwight “Chuck” Young was born Feb. 4, 1938, to Lenora and Harold Young in Lakin, Kan., the youngest of four children. The family moved to Eugene, Ore., where he graduated from Willamette Valley High School in 1956. He then joined the United States Marines. Upon his discharge he moved to the Seattle/Bremerton area to look for work. He started his career with the Boeing Company in his early 20s. During his career he traveled to Alaska where he worked on the pipeline, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia on various projects. He loved traveling and seeing the world. He resided in Maple Valley for more than 30 years.

He is survived by son Daniel Young and wife Kristin of Enumclaw; daughter Angela and husband Tyler Tripp of Enumclaw; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Bill Young and Jack Young and sister Jeanne Maier.

A memorial will take place Friday, May 31, at the Hobart Church.
