Clarence James Gleason Jr.

Enumclaw resident Clarence James “Jim” Gleason Jr. died July 26, 2012, in Auburn. He was 79.

He was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Sterling, Ill., to Rose (McGava) and Clarence James Gleason Sr. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-77, finishing his career as a lieutenant commander. He retired from Boeing as a materials buyer after 35 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by wife Collette Gleason of Enumclaw; sons Patrick and wife Charlotte of Auburn, John and wife Jen of Issaquah, Kevin and wife of Seattle and Christopher and wife Jessica of Shoreline; daughter Teresa Jones and husband Don of Snoqualmie; sister Jane Cornwall of Madison, Wis.; and nine grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
