Colleen Workman Dawson

Former Enumclaw resident Colleen Workman Dawson, 82, died March 26, 2012, in Seattle.

She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Scott County, Ariz., to M.G. and Elba Workman. She graduated in 1948 from Waldron High School and earned an associate’s degree in accounting from Green River Community College. Before retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper for Perfection Paint Company and Frostad’s Drugstore in Auburn, Wash. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing games with family and friends and will be remembered as being well-read, a trivia enthusiast and a lifelong learner.

She is survived by sons Michael Dawson and wife Jerry of Natchitoches, La., and David Dawson and wife Joan of Sammamish, Wash.; daughter Karen Fortier and husband Andrew of Seattle; sister Kathleen Workman McGaugh of Waldron, Ariz.; brother James M. Workman of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Herbert H. Dawson.

Graveside services took place March 31, at Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw
