Enumclaw resident David Wayne Blackburn died July 2, 2017.

He was born May 22, 1946, in Chanute, Kansas, to the late Wayne and Alta (Mitchell) Blackburn. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and on a RADCON team at Fort Lawton in Seattle. He met Deanna Bair in 1976 and they were married in 1978. The two worked for 40 years at Carter Lift Bag making underwater flotation bags. He loved getting family together, camping (especially at the ocean), dirt bikes, Seattle Mariners baseball and being a Seahawks fan.

He is survived by Deanna, his wife of 41 years, and daughters Renee Loveland and Gayle Ross, all of Enumclaw; sisters Barbara, Carol, Linda and Ginger; brother Lee; father-in-law Eldon Bair; sisters-in-law Lisa and Julie (Dean); and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Mike.

An inurnment service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park and a reception will follow.
