Fay Rice

Fay (Dub) H. Rice died Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 86.

Fay was born on December 16, 1938, to Hank and Edith Rice. He passed away at the age of 86 in his home in Buckley on February 15, 2025.

He graduated from Orting High School in 1957. He worked for Puget Sound Energy for over 30 years. Fay enjoyed hunting, collecting antiques and logging memorabilia, yar sales, community events and parades, the Buckley and Morton Log Shows, the Wilkeson Hand Car Races and the Orting Red Hat Days. He was a staunch Seahawks and Mariners fan and rarely missed a game. He was a charter member of the Orting Eagles with over 50 years of membership.

Fay was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Sharon Wallen, Bertha Rice and Jean Huber; brothers Rod Rice and Gary Rice; and his wife Frances (Frankie) Marie Rice. He is survived by his three children, Carrie Stevens (Bruce), Jim Rice, Casey Rice (Lisa), and bonus daughters, Stephanie Swain (Bill) and Sherry Marks; his sisters Verna Barrow and Evelyn West and brother Robert Rice. A special thanks goes out to the East Pierce Fire an Rescue in South Prairie and neighbors Marlo an Lois and sister-in-law Cathy for all their care and help.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Orting Eagles Hall on March 15, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Buckley Log Show or the Eagles Foundation or a charity of your choice.
