Francis Paul Brown

Cumberland resident Francis Paul Brown died Sept. 19, 2012, at the age of 74.

He was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Hollywood, Calif., to Francis and Nellie Brown. He graduated in 1957 from Renton High School, where he was a gymnast. He worked for Boeing as a machinist and as logger for Weyerhaeuser; he retired as fire chief of Cumberland and most recently retired from Heathco. He was an avid motorcyclist who loved to fish, hunt and travel. Preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Nellie Brown and second wife, Kellie Brown.

He is survived by sons Francis P. Brown and wife Jane of Fittsburg, Mass., and Michael H. Brown and wife Cheryl of Thorton, Colo.; daughter Shannon Lehnert-Brown and husband Derrick of Issaquah, Wash.; sister Nancy Wonder and husband Dennis of Kahlotus, Wash.; first wife and mother of his children Susie A. Bush; third wife Mabel Bergsma-Uhlenkamp; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
