Buckley resident Georgia Kay McDonald, 72, died Oct. 15, 2017, in Puyallup.

She was born Oct. 17, 1944, in Ontario, Oregon, to George and Lucille Griffin. She graduated from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Idaho, in 1962, and soon began a career as a flight attendant; she began with Empire Airlines in 1965 and retired from Republic Airlines in 1985. On May 20, 1972, she married Robert McDonald in Lewiston. Upon retirement, she owned and operated Celebrations Unlimited, a specialty cake business. In addition to running her business, she spent countless hours volunteering for her children’s school as well as her community. In 1997 she was honored as Parent of the Year by the White River High School. For the last 10 years, she also served as treasurer for the local Marion Water Company in Buckley. She enjoyed traveling and crabbing with her family.

She is survived by husband Robert D. McDonald of Buckley; son Adam McDonald (Alesha) of Bonney Lake; daughter Carmen McDonald of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; stepson Jeff McDonald of Oakland, California; stepdaughter Merritt Nelson (Rodger) of Sammamish, Washington; ; brother Jon Griffin (Sue) of Longview, Washington; sister Karron Buchanan of Selah, Washington; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Weeks’ Funeral Home with burial at Buckley City Cemetery.
