Henry T. Thompson Jr. died at his home May 30, 2016, surrounded by family. He was 72.

He was born in Topeka, Kan., but moved to Auburn as a child. He raised a family on a 10-acre farm in Buckley, which he called home for 35 years before moving to a smaller home in Eatonville, Wash., in 2012. He served six years in the U.S. Army and retired from King County Solid Waste.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol M. Thompson; daughter Kimberly Dodd; sons Henry T. Thompson III and Steven Thompson; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
