James Pfaff
June 20, 1940 – July 15, 2024
The last of the good guys has left us.
JamesWilliam Pfaff started his heavenly trail ride July 15th, 2024, from Buckley,WA.
He was born June 20, 1940 in his grandparents home in Spanaway,WA. He was welcomed by his parents, Fred and Sadie Pfaff, sister Frieda Elizabeth, and brother John. He spent much of his childhood on the family wheat farm in Ruff,WA.
He graduated from Bethel High School in Spanaway. Shortly after, he entered the US Air Force. He trained in San Antonio, TX and was stationed at K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base in the Upper Peninsula ofMichigan. There he met the most beautiful girl in Michigan, Francine Laitala. They were married August 4th,1962. Their first daughterDebra arrived the next summer. Jimleft the Air Force andmoved his family to Enumclaw,Washington.
Shortly after moving, their daughter Vicki joined the family.
He worked as a logger, patrolman in the Tacoma Watershed, and as a truck driver. He retired from Associated Grocers. Jim enjoyed riding horses with the Naches Trail Riders and riding in the high country. He loved fishing, bird hunting, dancing and in later years his adventures with Fran in their motorhome in Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Freida Pierson, Cathy Biehl, and JoanneTharpe; brothers John Pfaff, Jack Pfaff,and Charles Pfaff.
He is survived by hiswife Francine, daughtersDebbie (Dan) Snider of Enumclaw, and Vicki (Rick) Lind of Buckley. Six grandchildren, Lane (Jordan) Snider, Sharidan (DJ)Qualls, Cole (Grace) Snider,Will Snider, Crystal (Zach) Bilbrey, and ChloeNarolski; Eight great grandchildren and one on theway.
He is also survived by sister Dorothy Sisson, brothers Rick Pfaff, and Fred Pfaff.
Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, September 6th, at 9:30 am and a Celebration of Life will be September 7th, at 12-4 pm at the Buckley Eagles.
