Jeanine R. Whittington died Nov. 3, 2016, in Enumclaw.

She was born July 17, 1940, in Havre, Mont., to Clark and Rhoda (Nelson) Thompson. She married Robert Whittington on Dec. 28, 1962, in Bellevue, Wash. She worked at Cabrini Hospital as a lab technician for 22 years; owned and operated her own daycare for 15 years; and then ran her own business, Custom Quilts, for 10 years. She was an active member at Hillside Community Church and enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, canning and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Whittington of Enumclaw; son Guy Whittington of Vancouver, Wash.; daughters Anne Lelas (Peter) of Auburn, Wash., and Leigh Whittington (Dave Whitmarsh) of Enumclaw; brother Grant Thompson of Ellensburg, Wash.; sister Danette Putman of Helena, Mont.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Clark Thompson of Seattle.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Hillside Community Church in Enumclaw.
