A graveside service for both John and Evelyn Sloan is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov, 13, 2016, at the Black Diamond Cemetery. The U.S. Army and Enumclaw VFW will provide military honors.

Evelyn Doris Sloan, 80, died Nov. 26, 2015, in Enumclaw. She was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Ruso, N.D., to Walter and Alice (Smith) Huston. She worked as an aide in a nursing home.

John Robert Sloan, 83, died March 17, 2016, in Enumclaw. He was born March 5, 1933, in Bismarck, N.D., to John and June (Toppins) Sloan. He served in the Army and later worked at Boeing as a parts inspector.

They were married June 5, 1954, in Washburn, N.D., and celebrated 61 years together. They lived in Enumclaw for 25 years.

They are survived by children Barbara Handyside, Teresa Dale, Diane Torrey and John W. Sloan; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
