John E. Perkins

Longtime Enumclaw resident John E. Perkins, 83, died Aug. 10, 2013.

He was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Stark, Kan., to Ernest E. and Lucretia (Hall) Perkins. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was employed as a packaging engineer at Boeing for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of SPEEA, Boeing retirees and the Daffodil Bowl Senior League.

He is survived by sons Chris Perkins and wife Tesha of Tacoma and John Perkins and wife Sherry of Denver, Colo.; daughter Kathy Huntington and husband Kent of Olympia, Wash.; sisters Helen Wilkes of Westminster, Calif., and Betty Power of Tempe, Ariz.; four grandsons and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by wife Joan Perkins.
