Lonnie was born and raised in the Enumclaw area, growing up at the Weyerhaeuser White River Mill, working his way through the Enumclaw School District and graduating from EHS in 1961. Continuing to live in the area, he worked at Crystal Mountain, Beyer Heating Oil, Garrett Skidder until opening his own welding fabrication shop in 1980.

In his early years, he hunted, fished and even trapped a little. There was boating, traveling, and other activities but his love was riding motorcycles.

In 2005, he “retired” and built a home in the remote southeast corner of Arizona where he and his wife would move permanently in 2011. The community of Sunsites was exactly his kind of village.

And, of course, he continued riding his Harley. He never met a stranger!! All, eventually became friends with him. Lonnie was prone to helping others, especially those with problems concerning their modes of transportation. He was an avid participant/contributor to HarleyTechTalk.com, spending hours sharing help, humor and friendship. He truly touched hundreds of people world wide.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, Swede (Godfrey) and Frances Carlson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan (Sunsites), brothers Gary (Enumclaw) and Jim (Buckley), several nieces and nephews, plus hundreds of friends.

He will be missed.

The family would like any remembrances to be made in his name to the Sunsites/Pearce Fire Department, P.O. Box 507, Pearce, AZ 85625.
